Louise Hilsen draws on more than three decades of public policy experience in Washington, DC and in-house experience as a senior executive for Nestlé USA. Louise offers a deep understanding of the public policy & communication challenges that uniquely affect US operations of foreign-based global corporations and helps leaders reach key influencers in Washington and beyond. Core strengths reside in food safety, nutrition, and the interconnectedness of federal safety net programs. Louise spent a year in Colombia as an exchange student with the American Field Services and graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a degree in Spanish and Ethnic Studies. She is an active Advisory Council member of the Center for Humanitarian Health at Johns Hopkins’ Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is on the boards of the Food Research & Action Center, a public policy advocacy group to improve nutrition and eliminate domestic hunger, and Bread for the City, the largest provider of holistic social services to low income DC residents. She has served on the boards of the Center for Global Freedom and St. Peter’s School (Washington, DC) and was an organizer of the Race, Gender and Power Conference with Professor Anita Hill and Georgetown University Law Center and was involved with the founding of Refugees International.
